The first step in the selling process is to obtain an auction valuation form one of our team of specialists. For information on how to do this, please visit the valuations page.
Selling with Harper Field couldn’t be more simple. Here is a detailed guide, but if you have any questions we haven’t covered please contact us for help
So you have your valuation and you are happy to sell with us, now we need to organise getting the items to our saleroom. You can deliver them yourself if you’re able to, if not then call us on 01453 873800 and we can help.
When we take delivery of the items you will be given a vendor receipt and consignment form this shows our terms and conditions of sale along with the details of your items, their estimates, reserves if appropriate and the scheduled auction month.
Your items are then fully catalogued by the relevant specialist valuer, including research if necessary. They are then photographed and made ready for auction.
When the catalogue featuring your items is finished and ready to go online we will send you a pre-sale advice letter by email, this shows your lot numbers and includes a link to the online catalogue where you can view your items.
You can watch the auction live online via our own website (link) or the-saleroom.com. There is no requirement to open an account or create login details, you can watch as a guest.
After the auction we will send a post-sale advice letter by email, this will show your lot numbers and the prices realised. There is also information on any unsold lots.
We will spend 2-3 weeks obtaining payment for all sold lots, before processing your final payment and emailing a statement showing fees and charges, along with the final figure which will be paid directly into your bank account around 21 days after the auction date.

Harper Field will charge you seller’s commission calculated as a percentage of the Hammer Price at 15% plus VAT. There is also a £4 fee per lot and 1% limited liability (insurance)
