Sword Auctions
Swords are the category when most people hear the term bladed or edged weapons and have been around for thousands of years originally developed from shorter knives and daggers. The long history, particularly with their military association, means there is a huge collectors market with some of the best items selling for tens of thousands. Whilst the hand to hand combat they were originally designed for is now reserved for fencing with a epi members of the military are still issued with a sword for ceremonial and parade purposes meaning often they can be quite spectacular in design with gold plating, shagreen handles and intricate detailing common place.
It's not just military sword that are of interest though and with collectors bidding from around the globe there is interest in every type including rapiers, cutlasses, broadswords, sabres and many more.
